The VideoCarbon VBox Digital Incident Recorder is a portable,
evidentiary digital video recorder for Security and Law Enforcement applications
that sets a new precedence for capturing high-quality video evidence.
Designed as a robust hard drive-based digital replacement for the discontinued
Sony EVO-250 Hi-8 tape recorder, the VBox delivers the exact size, shape
and footprint as the Sony EVO-250 making upgrades or replacement a simple
task. Nothing new to design and most importantly - no more tapes.
Advanced Digital Recording for Law Enforcement
To provide unprecedented versatility, the compact and robust VBox delivers
advanced feature sets usually found only in facility-based digital recorders
such as the discontinued PGV-250 Alarm Recording Adaptor, companion product
to the Sony EVO-250. Features such as pre-event recording,
and NO/NC alarm-triggered recording, illustrate the broad
utility of the unit. The VBox seamlessly records critical embedded
time-date data in parallel with video evidence required for most
covert surveillance assignments. And to help maintain chain-of-evidence,
a unique serial number for each VBox is also embedded in all video content
recorded. Further, the VBox uses a special video format that can be played
on either AV devices or personal computers (PCs) and can be burned directly
to a DVD without extensive video editing or rendering.
Even with this high level of sophistication, the VBox is still very easy
to use. The VBox is controlled through simple two-button operation
to both power-on the unit and to record. Previously recorded video content
can be rapidly transferred to a personal computer via USB 2.0 or archived
directly to DVD with Windows-based DVD authoring software. Video can be
played back on a TV, a video monitor; or a Windows-based PC using the
VideoCarbon Media Player software.
Concealed, On-Premise Surveillance for Businesses
The VBox is also today's solution for businesses that require concealed
digital recording which can be easily configured for continuous recording
during business hours or alarm-triggered recording after closing. When
alarm-triggered recording is needed most, a NO/NC door open/close contact,
motion detector, infrared sensor, or other external alarm circuit triggers
the start of recording.
The VideoCarbon VBox lncident Recorder sets the new standard for ruggedized,
portable digital video recorders serving the needs of working Law Enforcement
and Security professionals today.
