Instructions for updating Riviera Software:

• Power the Riviera up. Wait for “NTSC” or “PAL” icon to turn on.
• Connect the Riviera to the computer using the USB connector. The LCD screen should say “USB”.
• Enable the ability to view hidden folders on your computer. This is done in different ways depending on your Windows operating system. If you do not know how to show hidden files or folders, select “HELP” from the toolbar in either Windows Explorer or My Computer. Search under the term “Show Hidden Files” and the help screen will step you through this process.
• Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, select the Riviera Hard Drive to view. A number of folders should be visible, including the “SYS” folder.
• Go into the “SYS” folder. Rename the file that is currently “PVR.BIN” to another filename such as “OLDPVR.BIN”.
• Copy the new “PVR.BIN” to the “SYS” folder.
• Close the Explorer Window that was open for Riviera.
• Eject the Riviera from the USB connection. This cannot be done unless the Window being used to update the Riviera code is closed. If the Riviera is disconnected before it is ejected, the Riviera's file system may be corrupted.
• Disconnect the Riviera from the USB port and turn off.
• Restart Riviera. The new version of code should be loaded.
• The Riviera code revision and serial number information can be accessed from the “SYSTEM INFORMATION” screen when using Riviera's built in file system.
