Patient Entertainment

The most effective way to calm patients is to entertain (or distract) them

"Fear and anxiety often inhibit patients from seeking dental care. Audiovisual (A/V) distraction techniques have been shown to reduce patient anxiety and pain during dental procedures." - American Dental Association

Comfortable for patients

Since their introduction in 1996, i-glasses have established themselves as the premier patient distraction and entertainment system within the dental industry. The reason for this is simple; i-glasses are the only video entertainment device that can both immerse and focus the patient's attention away from the procedures being performed.

The patented optical design and high resolution micro-display technology combine to deliver a giant-screen video image with superb clarity. Thousands of dentists, hygienists, doctors and nurses are using our head mounted video display systems. For the ultimate in Patient Distraction and Video Entertainment try the i-glasses VIDEO.

  • Connect to DVD players, VCRs, cable/satellite TV, even Intra-Oral Cameras!
  • Lightweight & Comfortable for all Patients
  • Plug & Play Set Up
  • Compact design does not interfere with Dental procedures
  • Thousands in use Nationwide

Because you care about your patients. Dentists have always been in the forefront of making their patients as comfortable and relaxed as possible. The use of i-glasses to achieve this is particularly effective. The HMD (Head Mounted Display) Video Glasses are feather-light, easy to hook up, nonrestrictive to your procedures and can be worn over ordinary vision eyewear.

For superior client comfort and relaxation, the image quality is uparalleled - twice the resolution of a standard TV on a wraparound screen. Two individual LCD screens offer crystal clear images to each eye for Flicker-Free video viewing on a virtual, Giant-Sized, theater screen equivalent to a 70 inch picture viewed from a distance of 13 feet. The deep, rich, stereo sound provided by the adjustable headphones built into the temples of the eyewear allows patients to tune out the scary whine of a drill.

Doctors have found that using i-glasses promotes more regular visits, lowers nitrous costs and increases referrals. Children especially like to put on the video headset and watch a movie or cartoons. They focus on the plot and not the procedure. It relaxes them and in turn it helps the dentist and staff to relax as well. Thousands of dentists, hygienists and their patients swear by them and you will too.

Make your patients comfortable and relaxedAt some point you might have to perform a lengthy procedure on a patient who either cannot have or refuses anesthesia. Studies have shown that patient distraction is key in relieving the anxiety and stress of dental visits, particularly during lengthy procedures like tooth whitening. The crisp visuals of i-glasses engage and transport the client, resulting in patients that are happier and dentists and hygienists who are more productive.

Not only does the technology project an image of quality within the practice, but dental bodies like the American Dental Association maintain that it "reduces patient anxiety and pain during procedures."

The i-glasses are easy to use, plugging directly into any ordinary DVD (or VHS video) player to run music videos, cartoons, sitcoms or feature films. Additionally, i-glasses are compatible with most intra-oral cameras, meaning dentists can visually explain procedures and let patients take an interactive, empowering role in their experience.

As cosmetic procedures grow, so too does demand for effective, in-chair escapism. Private theater systems like i-glasses offer a powerful distraction tool. And one which, increasingly, clients are coming to expect from the private practice. The use of videos and virtual reality glasses as a means of improving the dental care experience is now becoming standard practice in offices across the country.

Patients who use the video glasses sometimes end up with a whole new perspective on their ordeal. Getting them in the chair won't be the problem. It's the tempting them out you'll have to worry about. The i-glasses are plug-and-play, easy to use and come with Composite and S-Video Cables and an A/C Power Supply. Hygiene covers are also available.

Testimonials:

"I'm a dentist and I've been using the i-glasses since 1996 for all my procedures. Patients and staff love them!" J. Spaniel, DDS

"I just tried out the i-glasses in my (dental) office, and all of our patients love it. I am an avid DVD collector so my patients get to pick out the latest flick while I clean their teeth." T. Osgood, DDS

"I am happy to tell you that our patients simply love using the i-glasses during treatment. We provide shorter videos of TV episodes such as Friends, I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke and also travelogues of most European contries. Some patients prefer to bring their own videos. The response has been exceptional." T. Gamba, DDS Click here to visit this dentist's web site.

"It really focuses them and pulls them away. It's the ultimate distraction... and it really makes our work easier. We can just go to town." D. McCarthy, DDS

"We can make dentistry more comfortable and even fun. A few weeks ago a little girl came in for her very first filling. After putting on the i-glasses, her mom was amazed as her little 5 year old remained absolutely still while we performed her dental treatment. Weeks later her daughter is still talking about how much fun it was to see the dentist." R. Burns, DDS

"Watching a movie while he worked on my teeth made a usually unpleasant situation much more bearable. Plus it allowed the dentist to more fully concentrate on doing his work. It was like sitting in a movie theater about 15 rows back! I actually enjoyed going to the dentist! It was fun and I even look forward to my next visit!" Thomas S., Dental Patient

A study was published in the Journal of the American Dental Association on the beneficial effects of i-glasses on dental patients. The results of their study were as follows:

  • Subjects reported less anxiety and discomfort when using the A/V glasses system than when they did not.
  • Most subjects preferred to use the A/V equipment rather than receive traditional treatment.
  • The clinician experienced no significant technical interference during the use of the A/V device.
  • The use of the A/V glasses led to decreased treatment time in the first one-half of the procedure.
  • The system appeared to lead to some decreases in the physiological parameters over the course of treatment, with the highest systolic blood pressure occurring after the condition with no use of A/V glasses.
